Once you share a file, you want to decide who can open it and how long it stays available. Two settings handle exactly that.
Password protection. Add a password to a transfer and the recipient must enter it before downloading. Share the password through a separate channel — for example, send the link by email and the password by chat — so a forwarded link alone isn’t enough to open the file.
Expiry dates. Set a transfer to expire after a certain time, and the files are deleted automatically once it passes. This keeps old files from lingering and limits how long a link stays useful if it’s shared further than you intended.
Used together, they turn a simple share into a controlled one: the right people get access, for the right amount of time, and nothing stays around longer than it should. Both take just a moment to set when you create a transfer.
